RESTRICTED.

Dear Galsworthy,

18th August, 1947.

With reference to my letter (F9621/376/G) of the 29th July about the proposals for closer liaison between Hong Kong and His Majesty's Embassy at Nanking, and Consulates in China, I enclose a copy of the telegraphic reply we have just received from the Embassy. (The word after "tentatively" should presumably be "discussed" and not "explained".) We have not yet received the letter from Lamb to Kitson to which reference is made, but we will send you a copy when it arrives.

your sincerel Ahsosit

(A. L. Scott)

A. N. Galsworthy, Esq., Colonial Office.
